On October 19, UNN hosted a university-wide Open Day that included various events on the campus of Lobachevsky University for applicants and their parents. Master classes, demonstrations of the university's scientific achievements, a fair of student organisations, an exhibition of rare books from the UNN Fundamental Library, and a VR camera zone were offered to the guests.  On this day, more than 650 people attended various events at the University, and everyone could follow the live webcast.

The festive meeting of future university students in the UNN assembly hall opened with a performance of the municipal chamber orchestra “Nizhny Novgorod Soloists” conducted by Vladimir Plaksin. Then, UNN Rector Oleg Trofimov welcomed the audience. In his opening speech he noted:

“Lobachevsky University is the largest higher education institution in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the city’s only classical university with the widest range of study areas. We offer highly demanded educational programs, conduct basic and applied research in a wide range of fields, and work closely with leading employers. Our students come from almost one hundred countries of the world. Everyone will find something to his or her liking at our university".

Next, Nikita Avralev, UNN Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, addressed the guests. He summarised the results of the 2024 admission campaign and outlined its key points: the number of state budget-funded places for full-time education at Lobachevsky University has increased, the geography of applicants entering the university has expanded, and new areas of training in specialist programmes have been opened.

The formal part of the event concluded with a quiz on some facts about the life of Lobachevsky University.

After the general  session, applicants and their parents visited meetings at individual faculties and institutes, where they got acquainted with their leaders, received additional consultations on admission, learned about the available areas of training and about the extracurricular activities of university students.
