Lobachevsky University hosted an Open Day for the Digital Department, a career guidance and educational event focused on the professional and career growth of students, the development of digital skills among them, and broadening their understanding of job opportunities. It also served to demonstrate the practical use of skills gained through the Digital Departments project, which is part of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership programme. The event gathered students from various institutes and faculties of the university, teachers, project curators, and representatives of leading IT companies in the region and the country.

During the opening ceremony, the project managers and curators addressed the participants with their welcoming remarks. The interim results of the implementation of the Digital Department's programmes were summed up, highlighting the positive dynamics of student engagement and the expansion of the partnership network.  The curators of faculties and institutes who made a significant contribution to the development of the project and the support of students were presented with certificates of appreciation.

The central part of the programme was the festival of activities, which included interactive stands of partner companies.  Students learned about real-life  tasks in the IT industry and had the chance to talk directly with potential employers. Among the companies that participated in the event were Globus IT, School 21, First Bit, Lad Group of Companies, and the it52 community. Company representatives discussed internship and job opportunities, expectations for young professionals, and current trends in the field. Invited experts presented their lectures.

In the course of an interactive team-based game called "Project Factory", participants worked on creating their own project concepts, learned to distribute roles within the team, structure solutions and present results. After completing their tasks, the teams showcased their projects and received expert feedback. The event concluded with a summing up, awarding of active participants, and a raffle of branded souvenirs from the Digital Department.

The Open Day event highlighted the strong interest among students in the Digital Department’s programmes and demonstrated the effectiveness of the open dialogue format between the university and industry partners. It also served as an important platform for integrating the educational process with practice-oriented activities, fostering professional and soft skills among students, and reinforcing Lobachevsky University’s standing as a centre for training professionals in high-tech sectors.
