Partnership agreements signed with Mazandaran University
Lobachevsky University and Mazandaran University (Iran) have signed agreements on academic exchange of students and cooperation in education and science. The signing ceremony was held online on 6 March 2024.
Mazandaran University, whose main campus is located in the city of Babolsar near the Caspian Sea, has become the third Iranian university partner of Lobachevsky University. Earlier, cooperation agreements were signed with the University of Tehran and Tehran Medical University.
According to Rector Oleg Trofimov, since 2015 UNN has been a member of the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Russia and Iran, which includes 42 leading universities from both countries.
"Educational and scientific ties between Lobachevsky University and Iranian universities are getting stronger. In early 2024, a group of UNN students, future doctors and dentists, took part in thematic winter schools at Tehran Medical University. Our scientists are conducting research with their Iranian counterparts, focusing on chemistry, biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology, materials science, physics and astronomy. I am confident that the partnership agreements signed with Mazandaran University, which has 13 faculties and 262 areas of study, will open up a wide space for joint scientific endeavours, new research and educational opportunities, and expand the boundaries of intercultural space," said Oleg Trofimov.
It should be noted that Lobachevsky University currently has over 2,200 students and postgraduates from 83 countries. Among them, 10 students from Iran are receiving education at the Institute of Clinical Medicine.
