PhD students from Kazakhstan complete their research internship at UNN
The research internship for PhD students of Turan University (Kazakhstan) concluded at Lobachevsky University. It started on 10 May according to the Agreement on cooperation between universities in the field of research and academic mobility. The closing meeting was hosted by Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Networking of Lobachevsky University, Konstantin Kemaev, Deputy Vice-Rector, and Alexander Gorylev, Deputy Head of the UNN International Cooperation Office.
The internship programme was developed by the UNN International Cooperation Office with the participation of the Centre for Educational Programmes for Foreigners. This internship, designed for lecturers and postgraduates from universities of the Eurasian Economic Union countries, was a pilot programme for Lobachevsky University.
By the decision of the Academic Council of Turan University, the following professors of Lobachevsky University were appointed as foreign consultants for PhD students: Marina Malkina, Professor of the Department of Economic Theory and Methodology; Nadezhda Yashina, Head of the Department of Finance and Credit; Alexander Gorylev, Associate Professor of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law; Julia Grinevich, Associate Professor of the Department of World Economy and Customs.
Training sessions on various aspects of research paper writing for Kazakhstani PhD students were conducted by Olga Chepyuk, Professor of the Department of University Management and Innovation in Education; Evgeniya Kalinina, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law; Olga Lebedeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.
The participation of UNN faculty members in the research internship programme is considered to be a significant contribution to the promotion of Lobachevsky University in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstani guests also took part in the international conference "Current Trends of Education Development: Best Russian and International Practices" (EduVolgaForum).
"International cooperation, networking and partnership are the tools we need to solve our tasks together and enhance the competitiveness of our universities, improve our results in science and education, our results of working with students," noted Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Networking.
At the end of the internship, Kazakhstani scholars received appropriate certificates. Participants highly appreciated the level of preparation and organisation of their internship.
"I had to develop a methodology and to test it. I received very useful advice. So my dissertation has progressed a lot. It was a very fruitful month for me, because I was able to collect materials for my thesis in the most productive way," Dinara Zhulamanova commented.
