On September 21,  Lobachevsky University hosted the All–Russian Physics Day, a large-scale scientific and educational event for students, schoolchildren, parents, teachers and all those who are interested in exact sciences. The All-Russian Physics Day was held simultaneously at leading universities in dozens of cities across Russia.

The programme of the event at Lobachevsky University included popular science lectures from leading professors and researchers:

  •  "Materials of the future: obtaining, studying, applying";
  •  "Radiophysics in brain research";
  •  "The World of quantum physics";
  •  "Satellite communication systems developed and implemented in Russia";
  •  "Snowflake from planet Hot";
  •  "Physics of light and colour";
  •  "Electrical discharges in the Earth's atmosphere";
  •  "Space weather: how the Sun affects our lives".

A special lecture "Solving Olympiad problems. Analysis of methods" was intended for school teachers.

There were many interactive activities, allowing participants to not only listen, but also immerse themselves in science through hands-on experience. School students enthusiastically participated in a master class on the basics of electronics, assembling their first circuits and learning about the basic elements of modern electronic devices.

Several fascinating tours were organised for curious guests, including "Sun Gazers" about the first observations of the sun, "Fruits of the Mind" about great discoveries and inventions that changed the world, and "Dictatorship of Metal" about the role of metallurgy in technology.

Students also took part in a physics quiz, which helped them see that physics is more than just formulas - it's an enchanting world of discoveries.
