Poornima University becomes UNN’s new partner university in India
On 14 December 2023, Lobachevsky University and Poornima University (India) signed agreements on academic exchange of students and cooperation in education and science. The signing ceremony was held in online format.
Poornima University has become the fourth Indian partner university of UNN. Earlier, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, the University of Delhi and the Indian University of Technology Indore signed agreements with Lobachevsky University.
Oleg Trofimov, Acting Rector of Lobachevsky University, noted that scientific, educational and youth ties between Russia and India are getting stronger every year. Since 2014, together with Indian partners, UNN has been implementing joint research projects under grant programmes.
"We have made progress with our colleagues from India in the two main areas that have been included in the Priority 2030 programme as the key ones. The first area is the development of electronics and photonics products using traditional electronic technologies and new nanomaterials based on wide-gap semiconductors. The second area is related to the development of new technologies for cancer diagnostics and therapy, drug delivery, optical biomaging, and theranostics. More than 20 articles in WoS and Scopus journals have been published based on the results of the projects, and 6 results of intellectual activity have been registered. Today, Poornima University becomes our partner. We are open to discussing research and educational initiatives - academic exchanges, joint educational programmes, summer and winter schools, bilateral research projects. We hope for long-term co-operation," emphasised Oleg Trofimov.
He added that the main priority for the near future will be the launch of joint master's programmes in English in such areas as management, fundamental computer science and information technology, as well as psychology.
