On February 10, the UNN Science Park "Lobachevsky Lab" hosted the fifth popular science festival "42". The program included two lecture sessions (for adults and children) with Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow scientists taking part. Also, there were several scientific master classes and a book fair. The topics of the lectures presented to festival participants ranged from artificial intelligence and aviation history to animal language, human structure, dark matter and Japanese studies. Among the lecturers were an expert in machine learning methods Sergei Markov, an astrophysicist, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Popov, Director of the UNN PTRI Dr.Vladimir Chuvildeev. Visitors could also test their knowledge of the natural sciences at the "Open Laboratory". Special festival sites were devoted to robotics, physical exhibits, nuclear energy and forensic science. A number of popular science films were screened, and a VR planetarium was opened for festival guests.
