Popular science festival "Theory of Everything" to be held in Nizhny Novgorod
The popular science festival "Theory of Everything" will take place in Nizhny Novgorod on September 18. It will open at 11:00 in Switzerland Park, 35A Gagarin Avenue. The event will be held concurrently with the regional festival "Study in Nizhny Novgorod". Festival guests will be offered lectures in 6 areas: physics, chemistry, medicine, technical sciences, humanities and space exploration.
Evgeny Lantsev, a fourth year postgraduate student at the UNN Faculty of Physics, will give a lecture entitled "The science of sintering. How to make high-temperature ceramics." He will explain what can be used to cut a metal knife, what the science of sintering is, and why nature abhors emptiness.
Evgeny Kulikov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Literature at the UNN Institute of Philology and Journalism, will deliver a lecture "More than an award. Why literary prizes exist and how to appreciate them". He will answer questions about the modern literary process and its gala side.
Evgeny Kipelkin, a student of Lobachevsky University and participant in the ScienceHub project, will present a lecture on "Dual-purpose space". The lecture will cover the use of civilian satellites by the military for various purposes.
"The Theory of Everything is a new brand of popular science lecture series, which, unlike similar projects, only features speakers with a proven track record. The audience will hear lectures from the best science slammers, winners of all-Russian grant competitions, scientists with degrees and heads of Nizhny Novgorod laboratories," says Alexander Smykov, Director of the Festival, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The festival is organised by the Council of Young Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod region with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Information Center, UNN Science Park and Youth Center "Vysota".
