Professor Evgeny Chuprunov is the Scientific Leader of Lobachevsky University

Professor Evgeny Chuprunov, at his own request, resigned from the Rector’s post and took the post of the Scientific Leader of Lobachevsky University. He will be in charge of the university’s scientific life and the implementation of priority research projects. Professor Chuprunov’s decision to change the field of his professional activity was supported by the UNN Supervisory Board, which approved in December 2018 the Rector’s report on the work done by him.

In December 2018, in support of Russia’s policy in the field of science and higher education, the Supervisory Board of Lobachevsky University decided on the need to create the post of “Scientific Leader of Lobachevsky University”. At the meeting of the UNN Supervisory Board, Evgeny Chuprunov was recommended as a Scientific Leader of Lobachevsky University.

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation has appointed the UNN Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Kirill Markov to serve as Acting Rector. Dr. Markov holds the degree of Candidate of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), he is a graduate of Lobachevsky University. The team of Lobachevsky University continues its work and remains committed to its principles, the main of which is to develop the UNN as a center of world-class science, education and innovation.
