Promoting the dialogue between cultures
Lobachevsky University is a large international family that brings together representatives of different peoples, cultures and confessions. Students from more than a hundred countries study at the university, which creates a unique multicultural environment and at the same time gives a possibility to learn the culture, traditions and customs of other countries and peoples. On a regular basis, the university organizes cultural events and meetings with representatives of various public organizations to help international students adapt to the new social and cultural environment.
As a part of such activities, Munir-hazrat Beyusov, a representative of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Nizhny Novgorod region, visited Lobachevsky University on July 15. During his visit, Munir-hazrat Beyusov gave a lecture to UNN international students on the history of Islam in Russia and in the Nizhny Novgorod region. He also shared his thoughts and recommendations regarding studies and standards of behavior. Great interest was expressed in continuing and deepening cooperation between Lobachevsky University and the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Nizhny Novgorod region, in particular, with the aim to facilitate international students' adaptation to new conditions. For their part, international students thanked Munir-hazrat Beyusov and the administration of Lobachevsky University for an interesting and informative meeting and expressed their wish to take part in such events in future.
