On March 9,  Azizbek Razakov, First Secretary of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Otabek Abdulgaziev, representative of the Agency for External Labour Migration under the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, and Anvar Baltaev, head of the Nizhny Novgorod community of natives of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with Uzbek citizens studying at Nizhny Novgorod universities. On the Russian side, taking part in the meeting were Vladimir Prelov, Acting Director of the International Relations Department of the Nizhny Novgorod region Government, and Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Lobachevsky University.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on issues relating to Uzbek citizens' studies in the Russian Federation. The relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of education have been deepening and the number of Uzbek citizens wishing to pursue higher education in Russia is increasing year by year.

In his presentation, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny underlined that Lobachevsky University has extensive experience of cooperation with partner universities in Uzbekistan, which demonstrates the stable and dynamically developing mutually beneficial relations in the field of education.

The students who attended the meeting gave an account of their life and studies and shared their plans for the future, stressing that Russian education, and in particular the knowledge gained at Lobachevsky University, will help them to implement their plans in the future.

The students thanked the representatives of the Consulate General and emphasized that the support of the Republic's authorities is very important for them. They also acknowledged the help and support they received from the UNN administration in matters related to their studies and stay at the University.
