Research and practice conference “Family and Work“ closes at UNN

The international research and practice conference “Family and Work“ was held at Lobachevsky University. According to Roman Golubin, Dean of the UNN Faculty of Social Sciences, the conference “Family and Work“ is one of the most significant conferences on sociology in Russia. Traditionally, it gathers participants from different regions of Russia and foreign countries. This year, researchers representing 38 cities from 17 countries joined the conference.

The event's primary goal was to summarise the results of Russian and international research on the problem of family and work. The participants discussed a number of problems, including:

• Family and work: status vs. role conflict.
• Family and precarious employment.
• Labour socialisation.
• Professional dynasties.
• Home and family labour.
• Children's world of labour.
• Women's role in labour.
• Family and labour under the new technological paradigm.
• Social and legal protection of the family in the field of labour relations.
• Demographic situation as a threat to the reproduction of labour resources.

The conference was organised by the Department of General Sociology and Social Work of the UNN Faculty of Social Sciences.
