On March 14, a Macquarie University Research Management Workshop on the occasion of the Macquarie University research team mission to Moscow was held at the residence of the Australian Ambassador in Moscow. The Macquarie University was represented by Dr. Ren Yi, Executive Director, Research Training and International Research Training Partnerships, Professor Nick Mansfield, Dean, Higher Degree Research, and Mr. Matt Monkhouse, Director, Global Engagement and Business Development. From the Russian side, Vice-Rectors for Research, Directors of Research/ Graduate Schools, and International collaborations took part in the workshop. Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod was represented by Irina Leonova, Head of the International Affairs Department. The workshop was opened by Mr. Peter Tesch, Australia’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation. The Australian guests introduced the participants to the system of international cooperation and funding research in Australia, as well as the educational quality assurance system. Senior adviser of the Russian Science Foundation Sergei Konovalov spoke about the possibilities of supporting Russian-Australian cooperation by the RSF, and Aleksey Falaleev, 5-100 project expert, presented some key results of the project. The prospects for cooperation between the universities of Russia and Australia were also discussed.

Currently, Lobachevsky University and Macquarie University are implementing a large-scale joint project within the framework of the mega grant "Biocompatible luminescent nanocomplexes for theranostics" under the guidance of the Macquarie University professor Andrei Zvyagin.
