On December 12, the results of the student self-government work were summed up at the final conference at Lobachevsky University. Representatives of all UNN faculties and institutes gathered in the assembly hall. Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University, and Elena Chumankina, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work, welcomed the students. They also awarded the volunteers of the UNN Volunteer Centre with commemorative medals of the World Youth Festival.

“Our Student Councils have the most active and creative students. These young people never sit still, they easily take up any good task and always get into the midst of interesting and exciting events. We are very glad that you are responding so actively to the projects that are being realised not only in the Nizhny Novgorod region, but all over Russia. You are our future. You create that unique atmosphere that allows new students to come to the university, and we hope that you will not stop there. Now is the best time for self-fulfillment,” said Rector Oleg Trofimov.

During the event, the results of the competition for the best work of student communities of UNN faculties and institutes were announced. The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas and certificates for implementing projects in the field of student self-government:

  • 1st place -  Student Council of the Institute of Economics, 100,000 roubles
  • 2nd place - Student Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences, 80,000 roubles
  • 3rd place - Student Council of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, 60,000 roubles
  • 4th place - Student Council of the Faculty of Law, 30,000 roubles
  • 5th place - Student Council of the Institute of IT, Mathematics and Mechanics, 30,000 roubles.

“I want to really say thank you to all of you. For the fact that you are always with us, you are always taking part in the events. It is thanks to you that our university has such a creative atmosphere. I wish you to keep on with your creative drive, to have a burning heart and a cool mind! I wish all of you to have a good rest and to take up the work with new energy in the new year”, said Elena Chumankina, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work.
