The opening of the residency programme in rheumatology at  Lobachevsky University will help to solve the problem of staff shortages in this area," commented Natalya Grigorieva, Acting Director of the Institute of Clinical Medicine.

Medical graduates who have completed a specialist degree in General Medicine or Pediatrics as well as practicing doctors who want to become rheumatologists are invited for the training. A total of 15 spots are available for enrolment. International students will also be able to apply, taking into consideration that the instruction will be conducted in Russian. City Hospital No.5 is expected to become the main clinical base, and practicing rheumatologists will be involved in the teaching process.
