School students start classes at Yandex.Lyceum hosted by Lobachevsky University

Lobachevsky University has become an educational platform for Yandex.Lyceum. A total of 95 applications were received for this IT programme. Fifteen students from grades 8-10 were enrolled.

Participants were selected in 2 stages: a test for the ability to think logically and an interview with a Yandex.Lyceum teacher. The training programme will last for two years. In the first year, students will learn the basics of Python, and in the second year, the basics of industrial programming, at which point they will develop their first projects. The classes will be taught by Nikolay Borisov, Associate Professor at the Department of Software and Supercomputing Technologies of the UNN Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics.

During the two years of study at the Lyceum, school students will not only acquire the skills of a junior developer, but they will also get to know the fascinating world of IT. They will understand what they want to do in the future: start their own projects, enter a technical university, get an internship in an IT company or develop in other areas by applying their knowledge, for example, in game design.
