Second stage of international forum with UNN participation starts in Serbia
The second stage of the international forum "Russian Language and Eurasian Vector of Education, Science and Culture Development", co-organised by Lobachevsky University, has started in Serbia.
The forum is held by Lobachevsky University jointly with the State University of Management (Moscow) and is supported by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The main events are planned in Serbia as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The forum is co-organised by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Serbia, East Sarajevo University (Istochno Sarajevo, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Isidora Sekulic Gymnasium (Novi Sad, Serbia), Russian Centre at the National and University Library of the Republic of Srpska (Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina).
On 23 November, the International Conference "Current Issues of Scientific and Educational Cooperation in the Eurasian Space" was held as part of the forum. The conference took place at three main venues: the Russian House in Belgrade, the State University of Management in Moscow and Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod, bringing together a large number of teachers of Russian language and literature, employees of international educational organisations, postgraduates and students who participated face-to-face and online. The event was moderated by representatives of the UNN delegation in Serbia: Konstantin Kemaev, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Ekaterina Smirnova, Head of the Department for International Student Affairs, and Alexander Gorylev, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Office.
In his opening speech, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia welcomed all the participants of the forum. The importance of the series of forum events was highlighted in their addresses to the participants by: Evgeny Baranov, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Serbia, Olga Petrova, Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alexander Troitsky, Vice-Rector of the State University of Management, Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Lobachevsky University, his colleague Marko Gutal, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at the University of Eastern Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Vladimir Brazhuk, Director of the Russian Centre at the University of Bălți (Moldova).
During the plenary session of the international conference "Current Issues of Scientific and Educational Cooperation in the Eurasian Space", presentations were made by representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo in Serbia, Belgrade University (Serbia), Lobachevsky University, State University of Management, Foreign Languages Institute at Shanghai University of Politics and Law (China), Pavlodar Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan).
A detailed discussion of the Russian language from the perspective of teaching and internationalisation of education was the subject of two three-hour sessions: "Current Issues of Practical Teaching of Russian and Teaching in Russian to Foreign Speaking Audiences" and "Russian as a Basis for Internationalisation of Education in the Eurasian Space". Representatives of the Foreign Languages Institute at Shanghai University of Politics and Law (China), Don State Technical University, Lobachevsky University, Russian Translators' Union and Association of Literary Translators of Serbia, Russian State Social University, the Faculty of Philology of Fergana State University (Uzbekistan), Alecu Russo State University of Bălți (Moldova), Pavlodar State University (Kazakhstan), and others presented their expert opinions and suggestions to the conference participants.
