Sergei Parin, Professor of the Department of Psychophysiology at the UNN Faculty of Social Sciences, has become a winner of the "Top 50. The city's most famous people" Prize. Since 2013 the award has been presented in Nizhny Novgorod by the "Sobaka.ru" magazine.

The award ceremony was held in the concert hall "Strelka Warehouses".

The scientist was recognised for his work on the study of stress. Previously, Sergei Parin's three-component theory of stress was included in the fifth edition of the textbook on Psychophysiology for higher education institutions edited by Yuri Alexandrov, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education. The textbook is recommended by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for university students, postgraduates, researchers, and is also intended for all those interested in the methodology of science, psychology, psychophysiology, neuroscience, methods and results of objective study of the human mind.

Traditionally, the prize is awarded to residents of Nizhny Novgorod who have made a breakthrough in their field: film and media, art, literature, business, sport, social sphere, gastronomy, urban environment, fashion, science and technology.
