Spring Breeze 2022 English Language Festival

Spring Breeze English Language Festival was held for the 14th time at Lobachevsky University on April 12. The festival was organised by the English Department for the Humanities at the Institute of Philology and Journalism. The festival jury was chaired by Marina Zolotova, Head of the Department. This year, the event focused on the cultural heritage of the peoples around the world.

The festival was opened by Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs. He noted the importance of the student event and wished the participants every success.

Ten student teams competed in the festival. They represented several institutes and faculties of Lobachevsky University.

The teams presented five-minute sketches relating to the cultural heritage of various countries and nations of the world. All the teams showed their high level, artistry, and knowledge of cultural traditions. Many used musical instruments in their performances,  there were many beautiful songs and dances. All those present were amazed by the colourful national costumes in which the contestants appeared on stage.

The team from the Faculty of Chemistry emerged as the winner of the festival, with the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine students taking second place and the Institute of Philology and Journalism team coming in third. Other teams won in various categories. All participants received colourful diplomas and T-shirts with the festival logo.
