In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated March 19, 2020 № 453 "On the operations of dormitories, hotels, sanatoriums, boarding houses, rest houses and other places of stay belonging to the organizations subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation with the aim of preventing the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the territory of the Russian Federation" and additional explanations of the Ministry, a special regime is being introduced for dormitories of higher education institutions in order to reduce the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection.

UNN Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Olga Petrova comments: "The Ministry's order only confirms Lobachevsky University's previously stated position. We do not move anyone from the dormitories. To ensure comfortable and safe living conditions, our services strengthen prevention and disinfection measures. However, our surveys show that it would be more comfortable for many students to study remotely from home, so we do not insist on students' stay in dormitories. If any of them have the desire and opportunity to go home or to their relatives, there are no obstacles to do so. All they have to do is inform the dormitory superintendent of their departure, and international students should inform the UNN visa and immigration office as appropriate.”
