Summer schools for foreigners start at Lobachevsky University
On July 8, 2019, two summer schools started at the UNN Center for Educational Programs for Foreign Citizens: “Summer in Russia” and “Russia Goes Global: Modern International Relations Trends & Challenges”. The opening ceremony was attended by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny, Head of the International Affairs Department Irina Leonova, teachers and students of the summer school. A distinctive feature of this year’s summer schools is national diversity: 20 students from France, Great Britain, the USA, Croatia, Peru, Mexico, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, the Czech Republic and other countries will have their training at UNN this summer.
In addition to classes, summer school participants will be offered interesting excursions, interaction with volunteers, visits to iconic places in Nizhny Novgorod and a rich cultural program. As part of the summer school “Summer in Russia”, students will be able to improve their knowledge of Russian as a foreign language regardless of their initial level and learn about the peculiarities of traditional Russian culture.
The English-language school on international relations and diplomacy “Russia Goes Global” is taking place for the first time. Within the framework of this summer school, students will be trained in 4 main modules: "Political Peculiarities of Russian History, Culture and Identity", "Organization and Main Priorities of Russian Foreign Policy", "Regional Aspects of Russian Foreign Policy", "Russia's Role in Strengthening Global Stability". Among the lecturers, there will be diplomats, invited professors and UNN’s best teachers. In addition to the cultural program, there will be visits to the Honorary Consulate of Malta, the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod and the Department of External Relations of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
