Sunny Tashkent gets closer to Nizhny!
Two agreements were signed on March 11 by Lobachevsky University and Tashkent State Law University. The first document is an agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science, the second one is an agreement on academic exchange of students. On behalf of Lobachevsky University, Rector Elena Zagaynova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law Irina Kiseleva took part in the signing ceremony that was held in the format of videoconferencing. Tashkent State Law University was represented by Rector Rakhim Khakimov, Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Continuing Education Dilshod Umarov and Dean of the Faculty of Criminal Justice Dildora Kamalova.
"We are very pleased that our preliminary talks are culminating in a concrete agreement that will bring us even closer, allowing us to implement joint educational and research projects," said Elena Zagaynova, UNN Rector, in her opening remarks. - Lobachevsky University is always open for friendship and cooperation with universities in Uzbekistan, we have a long history of interaction. And today, we are signing an agreement on specific areas of cooperation with your country's leading university in the field of law."
"Today's agreement will open good prospects for bilateral educational cooperation," Rakhim Khakimov, TSLU Rector, said in turn. - We are aware that research work closely integrated into the educational process is an important integral part of your University's activities. Moreover, Lobachevsky University plays a consolidating role in the research space of the Nizhny Novgorod region, being the centre not only of scientific and educational activities, but also of cultural and socio-economic life. Our University plays an important role in the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is the key educational institution that provides training in the field of law".
According to the Rector of the TSLU, there are about 4,700 students at the university, and about 30% of them study in the programs taught in Russian. Taking the opportunity, Rakhim Khakimov invited Prof. Zagaynova to Tashkent for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the TSLU later this year. After signing the agreements, the parties expressed their mutual desire to exchange official delegations in the near future. Currently, a joint education programme for secondary vocational education and master's degree in law is being developed by the UNN and the TSLU.
