Symposium on signal propagation in cardiomyocytes held at UNN
From October 20 to October 23, 2016, a symposium focused on the study of signal propagation in cardiomyocytes was held at Lobachevsky University. The symposium was attended by representatives of Lobachevsky University, Nizhni Novgorod Medical Academy and the Komi Science Centre of the Urals Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The aim of the symposium was to further develop cooperation between the research groups of Lobachevsky University and the Komi Science Centre and to foster the interaction between experimental biologists and mathematical modeling experts in the study of heart physiology with the use of supercomputer technologies. Symposium participants discussed the results of the research into comparative evolution of the heart electrical activity and the use of multi-channel techniques for recording wave electrical processes in the human heart. This research involved the use of unique multi-electrode systems and flexible multi-electrode matrices, as well as mathematical modeling of normal and pathological electrical processes in the heart.
