T1 and Lobachevsky University launch educational projects for Nizhny Novgorod students
The Т1 holding company, one of the leaders of the Russian IT market, and Lobachevsky University join forces to train highly qualified professionals. Within the framework of this partnership, the holding company plans to be actively involved in the university's life. Thus, T1 experts will give lectures and master classes for students, contribute to the development of educational materials, provide career counseling and inform students about opportunities for professional development in the field of IT.
Technology cooperation between T1 and UNN will not be limited to the use of the holding company's products for educational and research purposes of the university. It will also include joint work to develop such products. In particular, students will be able to take part in the development of plug-ins for the Sphere platform: such experience will be a valuable addition to a beginner's resume. Besides, a business accelerator will be established at Lobachevsky University, where students will work on their IT projects using T1 products.
One more joint initiative will be the annual “T1 Day” at UNN, where students will get acquainted with the company and its products, and gain practical experience in solving IT problems at a hackathon. The first such event will be held in the autumn of 2025.
"Training highly qualified IT professionals requires a full-fledged ecosystem where education, science and business work closely together. Students need a seamless path - from familiarizing themselves with the theoretical basis to participating in research projects and gaining practical skills. Our partnership is aimed at building such an integrated system. We have to create an environment for students where theory is inseparable from practice and university developments are applied in the industry. Cooperating with Lobachevsky University, we transfer our expertise to students, involve them in product development, which helps them gain practical experience necessary for starting a career," notes Ksenia Rumbesht, Director of Corporate Training and Talent Development Department of the T1 holding company and Head of the T1 Digital Academy.
"Our partnership with T1 opens up fundamentally new opportunities for Lobachevsky University. Our students attend the holding company's events, learn from practicing instructors, work on real IT tasks in our laboratories and get real experience in software development. This makes it possible to train professionals who are best adapted to the demands of the modern IT industry and capable of developing breakthrough solutions," says Nikolai Zolotykh, Director of the UNN Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics.
In spring 2025, Lobachevsky University was among the winners of the competitive selection of universities to receive grants for launching advanced IT education. According to the number of points of the final evaluation, UNN's application became the seventh in the list of 26 entries to receive support. In this project, the university's industry partner will be the T1 holding company. This year, the partners will start to jointly train in-demand professionals: developers, data architects, and analysts.
