The 2018 edition of "The Russian Summer" school closes

The closing ceremony of the international summer school "The Russian Summer" took place on August 8 at the Scientific Demonstrations Hall of Lobachevsky University. Participants of the summer school included 18 students from partner universities in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Belgium, Romania, Mexico, Serbia, Lebanon, Iraq, Thailand and South Korea. Irina Leonova, Head of the UNN International Affairs Department, presented to the students of the summer school certificates confirming their level of knowledge of the Russian language. Letters of appreciation were issued to volunteers who helped the summer school participants to adapt to a new place and to get acquainted with Russian culture and traditions.
In addition to classes, summer school students were offered an exciting cultural program: they visited the Nizhny Novgorod Planetarium, the Ariel Christmas tree toy factory, participated in Russian folk games at the Shchelkovsky Khutor museum, had a ride on the cable car over the Volga river. Together with the students of the summer IT school, which is also organized by the UNN, they went on a river cruise down the Volga to Kazan and Kozmodemyansk. In Kazan, the students had a tour of the city, visited the Kremlin and the famous Kul-Sharif mosque.
