The 78th conference “Biosystems: Organisation, Behaviour, Management” opens at UNN
Lobachevsky University hosts the 78th All-Russian School-Conference of Young Researchers “Biosystems: Organisation, Behaviour, Management” with international participation. Traditionally, this conference brings together early career professionals, including students and postgraduates, and scientists from leading research centres of Russia and other countries. The geographical scope of the conference includes 46 cities from seven countries. 357 young researchers will take part in the event.
The aim of the conference is to intensify the research efforts of young scientists and academics, present research results, communicate with leading scientists, share their experience and discuss “hot topics” in biology. The conference will be held until 18 April. Scientists from leading research centres will give review lectures on current trends in the development of promising areas in biology. The programme includes contributions by young researchers in the main fields of biology, biotechnology and biomedicine. The participants will receive appropriate certificates at the end of the conference.
Oleg Trofimov, Rector of UNN, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech:
“This conference is a significant scientific heritage of both the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine and Lobachevsky University as a whole. It serves as a driving force for all biological science. Working with young people has always been one of the Institute's distinguishing features. This conference is yet another evidence of how science unites Nizhny Novgorod researchers with the research community from other cities and countries. I wish you all fruitful work”.
Maria Vedunova, Director of the UNN Institute of Biology and Biomedicine, also spoke to the participants:
“I would not be wrong if I say that for all employees of the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine this conference was once their first. It was their first step into science. Senior-year students, postgraduates, young researchers, who would later become professors, delivered their first reports at this conference. For all of us, this is not just an annual event, it is our history, tradition and future.“
