The Day of Latin American Culture at Lobachevsky University

On April 19, Lobachevsky University was the venue of a youth festival, "The Day of Latin American Culture." More than 60 foreign students from 10 countries of Latin America presented their culture in the format of an exhibition-fair. During the fair, anyone could get acquainted with national attributes, costumes, traditional cuisine of Latin American countries, including Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, etc. International students made presentations about their native countries, gave express courses of Spanish, Portuguese and Aztec languages and master classes on drawing national ornaments and weaving traditional bracelets. A special attraction was the master class on the Latin American dance "Salsa". The final stage of the festival's program was a musical concert, which began with a flag parade of Latin American countries. The variety of cultures was represented by national songs, dances and poems performed by students. The musical composition "Million Voices" performed in Russian marked the unity of Latin American students studying at Lobachevsky University.
