The Faculty of Philology and the UNN Media Center have been merged to provide the basis for the newly established university unit. The main objectives of the Institute of Philology and Journalism are as follows: to improve the training of professionals in the areas of philology, journalism, advertising, public relations, publishing; to conduct basic, interdisciplinary and applied research; to develop and implement international projects in the field of science and culture. The sphere of the Institute’s interests will also include the establishment of social partnership with the leading media. The aim of such interaction is to develop and implement a system of journalism education that meets all the requirements of the present day. The Institute of Philology and Journalism comprises 8 centers (including the Serbian and Czech Centers) and 9 departments.
