University of Calabria holds the Peoples of the World Festival
On October 23, 24 and 25, the University of Calabria held the Festival of the Peoples of the World (Festa dei Popoli). The purpose of the event was to familiarize the participants of the festival with a rich variety of cultures of students who study at the University of Calabria and live on the UNICAL campus. As part of the festival program, students from around the world could set up their booths and give explanations about the culture, life and traditions of their people. This year, Russia was represented at the Festival by UNN students Maria Gryaznova and Natalia Gryaznova, who came to study at the University of Calabria on the international student exchange program of double degrees. They were assisted by the participants of the Russian-Italian University program of previous years, Ekaterina Maltseva and Ekaterina Skatova, who are currently studying at the postgraduate school of Calabria University. At their booth, Russian students welcomed and treated the festival participants to an apple pie, pancakes with cottage cheese, gingerbreads, jelly and other tasty dishes prepared with their own hands. They also introduced festival participants to the culture and traditions of the Russian people. The Rector of the University of Calabria, Prof. Gino Mirocle Crisci and the Italian Coordinator of the Russian-Italian University Prof. Davide Infante took part in the Festival and visited the Russian booth. Lobachevsky University and the University of Calabria (UNICAL) have been implementing the Russian-Italian University international program of double degrees since 1994.
