UNN and Anhui University sign agreement on cooperation and student exchange

Lobachevsky University and Anhui University (China) have signed an agreement on academic exchange of students. The signing ceremony took place on 25 April 2024 within the framework of the international forum "Current Issues of Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism".

The agreement was concluded for a five-year period. Taking part in the academic exchange will be undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of the partner universities. The parties agreed to annually send each other up to five students for a period of up to 10 months to summer and winter schools, as well as language courses. Besides, the agreement is aimed at implementing joint scientific research.

"Cooperation with our colleagues from China is very important to us, it reflects the state policy. There are about 49,000 students from China studying at Russian universities. This is almost 15% of the total number of foreign students. Currently, 70 Chinese citizens are studying at our university. We are closely cooperating with 14 universities in the People's Republic of China, implementing joint educational and academic mobility programmes, including summer schools. We have been a member of the Volga-Yangtze Association of Higher Education Institutions since its foundation," said UNN Rector Oleg Trofimov.

He also noted that Anhui University is one of the best universities in the People's Republic of China, which is actively engaged in international cooperation, and today's agreement contributes to the strengthening of twinning ties between the cities of Hefei and Nizhny Novgorod. It marks a new stage of development, which opens up good opportunities for Lobachevsky University students.
