From July 19 to 23, students of Lobachevsky University Alikhan Rakhimov (Uzbekistan), Anna Alekseeva (Russia) and Shao Mingjun (China) took part in the virtual International Youth Camp "Media Space and I - Life in the New Reality". The event was organised in the framework of the development of twinning relations between Nizhny Novgorod and Essen (Germany). The key topics for discussions and workshops were creative approaches to new technologies and media, as well as problems and experiences of young people related to their life during the pandemic. As a part of the online youth camp, students from Nizhny Novgorod presented their city’s potential, shared thematic videos, took part in quizzes, interactive workshops, game sessions, master classes in music, creativity, media literacy, media art. They also presented their photo works at the online exhibition "My Life during the Pandemic".
According to Konstantin Kemaev, Head of the UNN International Cooperation Office, participation in the project gives our students an opportunity to establish ties with their peers from other countries, to think about the possibility of implementing joint youth projects in scientific, educational and humanitarian spheres.
The International Youth Camp of the Twin Cities is an annual event, an informal meeting of young people from different countries. Every year, the camp is focused on a certain theme: music, sport, environment, etc. Workshops, various thematic sections and a rich cultural programme are organized for the participants. Student delegations from Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), Changzhou (China), Grenoble (France) and Essen (Germany) took part in the 2021 camp.
