On April 24, the Academic Council of Lobachevsky University held its regular online meeting. In connection with the need to continue the distance learning format and in order to organize the final assessment, it was decided to change the procedure for conducting state exams for graduates of most faculties and institutes of the UNN.

"The University has decided to simplify the final certification for this year's graduates. The University has adopted this approach within the framework of those standards, which provide for the final certification by means of defending final qualifying papers. This amounts to about 90% of all areas of studies and specialties. Appropriate changes have been made to the university's own educational standards," said UNN Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Olga Petrova.

The university meets the needs of its students and in the difficult epidemic situation provides the most comfortable conditions for final certification. Changes in the procedure of state exams for final-year students in the current academic year will not apply to law students and those in a number of other areas of study and specialties. Final-year
students can get detailed information on the organization of final certification in the current academic year in each area of study or specialty at the dean's offices of their respective faculties and institutes.
