UNN delegation takes part in the conference "Rankings and Strategic Management of a University"

The Conference "Rankings and Strategic Management of a University" was held in Warsaw (Poland) on December 3-4. Evgeny Chuprunov, Rector of Lobachevsky University, and Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, presented the experience of Lobachevsky University in enhancing international competitiveness. The conference was organized by the ”Perspektywy” Education Foundation in close cooperation with the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) and the IREG academic rankings observatory.

The conference was attended by Poland’s  higher education leaders, rectors and vice-rectors of leading universities, publishers of major world university rankings, as well as experts in the field of international education. The focus of the conference was the implementation of measures aimed at improving the competitiveness of Polish universities in accordance with the recently adopted Law on Higher Education and Science in Poland.

The measures introduced by the new law include  strong support for the research oriented universities, a new approach to evaluation of research, classification of the fields and disciplines based on the international standards, improvement  of universities’ standing in the international university rankings, development of academic internationalization. Within the framework of the plenary session of the conference, Lobachevsky University’s experience of participation in the Russian Academic Excellence Project "5-100" was presented.
