Lobachevsky University took part in the joint exhibit of Russia’s leading universities participating in the 5-100 Project at the international educational exhibition-conference NAFSA 2018, which was held in Philadelphia (USA) from May 27 to June 1, 2018. NAFSA is one of the largest international events in the field of higher education that brings together more than 10,000 experts from 3500 universities and educational organizations from more than 100 countries. This year, the leading Russian universities participating in the 5-100 Project took part in the forum for the fourth time. The theme of this year’s 70th Anniversary NAFSA Conference, Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment, emphasizes the value and power of all voices from within, across, and beyond the field of international education. Leading world experts in education discussed with their colleagues the trends in modern higher education, professional development programs and attended one of the largest educational exhibitions.

Lobachevsky University delegation at the event included Alexander Bedny, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Nikita Avralev, Vice-Rector for Public Relations, and Olga Petrova, First Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship, head of the UNN 5-100 project office. UNN representatives had more than 50 meetings with foreign partners from China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Turkey, Chile, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Australia, the USA and other countries. Within the framework of these meetings, they discussed the creation and development of joint educational programs, the exchange of students and faculty members, international research projects and the joint application for Russian and international research and educational programs. As a result of the meetings, a cooperation agreement was signed between Lobachevsky University and Sun Yat-Sen University (Taiwan), and arrangements were made to conclude new cooperation agreements with the University of Almeria (Spain) and the Education University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong).
