UNN delegation visits partner educational institutions in Malta
From April 8 to April 10, the UNN delegation comprising Rector E.V. Chuprunov, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Interaction with Employers T.N. Bespalova and Vice-Rector for International Affairs A.B. Bedny visited the University of Malta, the Russian boarding school Malta Crown and the Domain Academy. The events held in the course of the visit were also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Malta V.A. Malygin, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Russian Federation Carmel Brinkat, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Malta in Nizhny Novgorod О.N. Zaitsev and Head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Malta A.M. Muraviev.
During the visit to the University of Malta, negotiations were held with its Rector, Prof. Alfred Vella, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Prof. Godfrey LaFerla, heads of research and educational units of the university. In the course of the working meetings, agreements were reached on the development of scientific cooperation between researchers from the University of Malta and the UNN in the field of neuroscience and biomedicine, academic mobility of students and university professors, and joint participation in international grant programs.
At an official ceremony, an agreement on cooperation between the UNN and the University of Malta was signed by the rectors of both universities. Negotiations were held at the Russian boarding school Malta Crown regarding cooperation in the field of development of education for school students and attracting talented students to study at Lobachevsky University. UNN Rector E.V. Chuprunov gave an open lecture to the students and the teaching staff of the school. At the Domain Academy, the delegation of the UNN held working meetings with the Principal of the Academy, Mr. Nicholas Callus, where agreements were reached on further development of cooperation, including joint educational programs and professional development programs for professors and students of Lobachevsky University.
