A delegation from Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL) headed by Vice-President Prof. Hu Jiling, visited Lobachevsky University on October 13. In the course of the meeting of the Chinese delegation with Vice-Rector for International Affairs Alexander Bedny and staff members of UNN’s international services, including the Faculty of Law, the Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship, and the Institute of International Relations and World History, main areas of cooperation were discussed: staff and student mobility, participation in research and educational projects, development of joint educational programs, including double-degree programs, summer and winter schools, general education programs in the areas of economics, management, politics and law. Delegation members also met with SHUPL students who are studying this year at the UNN under a special program. Chinese students highly appreciated the quality of teaching the Russian language. Many of them plan to continue their studies at Lobachevsky University. Following the talks, a cooperation agreement between the UNN and SHUPL will be signed.

Founded in 1984, Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL) is situated in the well-known Sheshan Mountain area and is widely known in Shanghai as the "University-Garden" because of its scenic campus. The university now has 12 academic schools with more than 10 000 full-time students who study economics, politics and law. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Center for International Training in Law operates at SHUPL.
