UNN graduate Vladimir Panov elected Nizhny Novgorod Mayor
On Wednesday, January 17, at the meeting of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma deputies, State Duma deputy Vladimir Panov was elected as the new head of Nizhny Novgorod.
Vladimir Panov was born on October 10, 1975 in the city of Gorky. In 1997, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Lobachevsky University specializing in management, he has a degree of Candidate of Sciences in Economics. The topic of his dissertation (2000) was related to his work in the non-government pension fund NORSI: "Management of corporations’ social and economic infrastructure: the example of pension funds". He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mineral Fertilizer Plant OJSC Minvata, as well as the owner of the Milo Group network. From 2004 to 2016, he was a co-owner of CJSC Coffebook, in 2007-2014, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Building Materials." In 2006-2007, Vladimir Panov was the head of the local government of Kstovo. From 2010 to 2016, he was a deputy of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod. He was elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in 2016. He has been the Chairman of the regional branch of the Opora Rossii public organization since 2015. He was a member of the General Council of the United Russia party until December 2017.
