UNN improves its position in QS BRICS Region University Rankings 2018
Lobachevsky University is now at the 72th place, thereby improving its last year's standing by 4 positions. A total of 96 universities from Russia were included in the rating. Among the Russian universities, Lobachevsky University took the 15th place. In the highly competitive 2017 selection, only 300 universities were included in the final list out of the total of 8976 higher educational institutions listed by Webometrics. The universities are ranked according to the following criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international faculty, international students, faculty staff with PhD, papers per faculty, citations per paper.
According to UNN Rector Evgeny Chuprunov, Lobachevsky University as a major center of regional development demonstrates that our education and science are competitive in the world. "More than 40% of the world's population live in the BRICS countries where a large number of strong and successful universities are concentrated. Our results in 2017 reflect positive trends in the development of education, research and innovation. I am confident that the UNN has very good prospects for further improvement of its positions in the world educational arena," said Evgeny Chuprunov.
