UNN improves its standing in Webometrics global university ranking

According to the recent results of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, Lobachevsky University has improved its positions and now ranks 14th among Russian universities and 1545th in the world (according to the results of the previous rating, it was at the 1640th place).

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Spanish National Research Council, CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. Twice a year, in January and in July, CSIC evaluates the quality and quantity of relevant information on university websites.
The first rating of 2018 covered more than 27 000 universities worldwide, including 1197 Russian institutions of higher education. The methodology of the study is based on four indicators with different weights: the number of inlinks (links from other resources), the size of the website (the number of web pages indexed by Google), the academic quality (the citation of scientific publications based on the analytical data of the SCImago research group) and the openness (the number of full-text files uploaded on the site and indexed by the Google search engine).
