UNN is the leader in the rankings among Nizhny Novgorod universities

When choosing their future place of studies, school graduates are guided, among other things, by university ratings. Those who compile university rankings use different parameters to assess the performance of educational institutions, but there are some ratings where any university in the world wants to be listed. For example, QS World University Rankings is the annual ranking of universities from different continents compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds. High positions in this ranking are an indicator of a higher educational institution’s competitiveness in the world. The position of a university in the QS World University Rankings depends on such factors as citations per faculty, the university’s academic reputation, its reputation with employers (which means they are ready to offer jobs to university graduates). Lobachevsky University has been listed in the regional QS rankings for a number of years. In 2017, the UNN took the places in the range 251-300 in the category "Physics and Astronomy" of the QS ranking by subject. Another world rating is the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. It focuses on the presence of universities on the Internet and is based on the data on the number of the university’s web resources, as well as their citation. Here, the UNN holds the 15th place among Russian universities.
"Russia Today" information agency also publishes a national rating of universities, based on Russian economy’s demand for universities, including the demand for their graduates, research and studies at these universities, both on the part of business companies and within the academic community. In 2017, the UNN held the 10th position among the classical universities in this ranking.

To make the right choice of the university, high school graduates should take into account the opinion of experts and university graduates. Certainly, they should also follow their own intuition.
