UNN joins Kaspersky Academy Alliance
Lobachevsky University and Kaspersky Lab have agreed to cooperate in cybersecurity. The bilateral agreement was signed on 22 May at the All-Russian Conference "Digitalization of Industrial Russia" (CIPR-2024) in Nizhny Novgorod.
Under the agreement, UNN joined the Kaspersky Academy Alliance, a special programme for universities to integrate Kaspersky Lab's cybersecurity expertise and the latest technologies into student education.
"This will afford us the opportunity to integrate cybersecurity expertise and Kaspersky technologies into student training. The university is expanding the line of educational programmes in information security, so we believe it is important to introduce relevant modules into the training of IT students. Besides, our colleagues are interested in cooperation in the field of mathematical computing, artificial intelligence and a number of other research areas," said Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University.
"We believe that up-to-date knowledge about information security and cyber hygiene should be available to everyone. Through our partner programme for universities, we can share our experience and knowledge with the academic community. Thanks to this, teachers and students will be able to keep abreast of the latest trends in cybersecurity," commented Yevgeny Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab.
Earlier, on 20 May 2024, Lobachevsky University hosted a delegation of Kaspersky Lab representatives headed by its founder and CEO Yevgeny Kaspersky. He met with UNN students and gave a lecture on cyber threats and the important role of the cyberimmune approach in creating a safer digital world.
