UNN professor makes a presentation on Pushkin's fairy tales at the literary meeting in Almaty
The literary meeting "Boldino, the Birthplace of Pushkin's Fairy Tales" was held in the framework of the Year of Russian as a language of international communication in the CIS. Irina Yukhnova, Head of the Pushkin Centre, Professor of the Russian Literature Department at the Institute of Philology and Journalism of Lobachevsky University, took part in the meeting.
The event was organized by the Abay Kazakh National University, the Russian House in Almaty and specialized lyceum No. 165 of Almaty.
Tatyana Baryshnikova, Russian Consul, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. The meeting participants made their presentations on a range of topics. Irina Yukhnova told the audience about the axiological meaning of Pushkin's fairy tales. Natalia Derbenyova, researcher of the Boldino Memorial Museum, presented a museum exhibition of the poet's fairy tales and gave a talk on the history of their creation. Irina Pereverzeva, Head of the Russian House in Valletta (Malta) made a presentation of the translation of Pushkin’s works into the Maltese language. A literary composition prepared by lyceum students from Kazakhstan became the highlight of the meeting.
