On October 27-28, a meeting of the Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities among Global Research and Education Centers was held in Yekaterinburg, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets. During this two-day meeting, the members of the Council considered the competitiveness enhancement plans ("road maps") for 2018-2020 presented by universities - participants of the "5-100" project. In its work, the Council paid particular attention to the analysis of the results of the universities' work within the framework of the program, with a special focus on a clear system of development priorities. Lobachevsky University presented its "road map" for 2018-2020 on the first day of the Council meeting. Following the defence of the "road maps", Lobachevsky University became the leader in the third group of universities, thereby reaffirming its right to participate in the "5-100" project as one of the leading research and educational centers in Russia.
As the UNN Rector Professor Evgeny Chuprunov noted, Lobachevsky University’s results were highly appreciated by the members of the Council and demonstrated a steady growth of its indicators relative to the results of 2016.
"Lobachevsky University sets high goals and objectives for 2018-2020 in the field of development of breakthrough scientific technologies, improving the quality of education and human capital and expanding its international activities. I am convinced that the University, thanks to the state support, will be able to achieve breakthrough results in the field of neuro- and biomedicine, mathematics, parallel and high-performance computing, physics and materials science as part of the "5-100" project, becoming one of the world leaders in these fields of science", said Evgeny Chuprunov.
