On September 18, the European Union representative office in Russia (Moscow) hosted a seminar "Implementation of Jean Monnet Program in Russia: Examples of best practices" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Jean Monnet program. Lobachevsky University was represented by Alexander Gorylev, Head of Department of European and International Law, Head of the UNN Center for International Projects and Programs.

Alexander Gorylev made a presentation on Lobachevsky University's participation in the Erasmus + Jean Monnet program, and also took part in the discussion that focused on the assessment of this program's impact on universities and society in general. An agreement was reached with the Erasmus+ National Office to hold at the UNN a methodological seminar in November 2019 on the development of the Erasmus program grant projects and on the procedures related to filing grant application documents.

The main objective of the Jean Monnet Program is to bring the European dimension into higher education systems. The following projects and modules of the Jean Monnet Program have been implemented and are being implemented at Lobachevsky University: "The Jean Monnet Department of European Law at Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod" (project manager N.M. Sidorenko), "European Union as a global actor in the field of human rights" (project manager A.S. Leonov), "The EU's approach to the problems of cross-border security: focusing on the study and use of expertise" (project manager A.S. Leonov), "European labour law: protection of citizens' rights "(project manager I.A. Filipova)
