From June 25 to June 30, UNN researchers  took part in a major international conference on nonlinear dynamics in Budapest, Hungary. The conference is held every three years under the auspices of the European Mechanics Society (EUROMECH). At the 2017 conference, participants from 45 countries presented more than 450 reports in the field of nonlinear dynamics. Svetlana Gerasimova, junior researcher of the UNN Physics and Technology Research Institute (PTRI),  presented a poster report on the results of interdisciplinary research conducted at the PTRI and the Nizhni Novgorod Neuroscience Center with the support of the Russian Science Foundation. This research is aimed at investigating the nonlinear dynamics of neuromorphic systems based on memristive devices and neuron-like generators. It also aims to  create a prototype artificial neural network based on a memristive chip for use in autonomous control systems of robotic systems. The new methods for studying nonlinear dynamic systems presented at the conference are of interest for numerical simulation of the adaptive behavior of a memristive device used to simulate a synapse in the physical model of coupled neurons developed at the UNN. To study the complex dynamics of coupled electronic neurons by means of memristive devices, it is possible to use chaotic neuron models presented at the conference. International recognition of the results obtained at Lobachevsky University indicates the world level of research done by Nizhni Novgorod scientists.
