UNN’s international students prepare the most useful sandwich on Tatyana's day
On January 25, as part of the celebration of the Student's Day in Nizhny Novgorod, a contest "Feeding a Hungry Student" was held at the “Komsomolskaya Pravda” press center.
On Tatyana's day, Nizhny Novgorod students competed in the art of making the most original and delicious sandwiches. Competing in the contest "Feeding a Hungry Student" were the teams of Lobachevsky University, Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University and Nizhny Novgorod Agricultural Academy. The contest was held in three categories - "Most Healthy", "Most Beautiful" and "Most Nutritious". It is interesting to note that all the teams were headed by representatives of the stronger sex, who showed that they know what’s what about this matter. There was a whole variety of ingredients for making everyone's favorite snack: bread, vegetables, different sausages, cheeses, sauces, so each sandwich turned out to be unique.
According to Alla Polyashova, Head of the Nizhny Novgorod Association of Nutritionists who chaired the jury, the alleged harm from such food is a myth. With the right combination of products, a sandwich can be a dish in its own right, it can be tasty and even healthy.
The UNN team consisting of representatives from China, Great Britain and Serbia won the "Most Healthy" category. The "Most Nutritious" sandwich was made by a student of the Linguistic University, which is not surprising: the team was dominated by male students who, unlike girls, will hardly be satisfied with a salad leaf for their snack. The "Most Beautiful" sandwich was prepared by representatives of the Agricultural Academy. It was intricately decorated with vegetables and herbs.
Anyway, all the contest participants and support groups agreed that the quality of all sandwiches was superior.
