UNN Science Park wins the Russian Event Awards

Lobachevsky University Science Park became the winner of the Russian Event Awards 2022. The ceremony took place on Saturday, 19 November. The UNN team won in the category "Best Event Celebrating the Decade of Science and Technology" for holding the All-Russian Science Slam in Nizhny Novgorod.

"This year, two things happened for the first time and coincided. The All-Russian Science Slam was held in Nizhny Novgorod for the first time, and a science-related category "Best Event Celebrating the Decade of Science and Technology" was introduced at the Russia Event Awards. Previously, popular science events were often left out of the events community, but now they are getting more attention. I hope that in the long term this will help to expand the scale and improve the quality of popular science events," said Anna Sakharova, Director of the UNN Science Park.

 Overall, more than 180 awards were conferred at the Russian Event Awards finals, 13 of which went to projects from Nizhny Novgorod.

"Representatives of the event industry and hospitality professionals have witnessed a completely unique transformation of Nizhny Novgorod, which in addition to its status of a major industrial city has also become an attractive tourist destination. This has happened to a great extent thanks to large-scale business events: people from other regions come here on business, and then they spread the word about the city and go to Nizhny with their families for a holiday themselves," said Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The UNN Science Park operates as part of the Priority 2030 Strategic Academic Leadership Programme.
