The first competition for the UNESCO-Al Fozan International Prize for Young Scientists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) has been launched. The Prize is awarded every two years to five individual prize-winners from the five UNESCO geographical regions.  The prize is worth $50,000 to each winner. Candidates must be less than 40 years old at the time of applying for the Prize and must be actively involved in STEM at the time of application to the Prize.

Scientists from Lobachevsky University are invited to participate in the competition. To be considered for the Prize, an application in English or French has to be submitted through the official website of the Prize not later than November 15, 2022.

Candidates (not more than three per organisation) can be recommended by UNESCO Member States through their National Commissions for UNESCO, non-governmental organisations - UNESCO partners, UNESCO Chairs, UNESCO category 2 centres, international scientific unions and universities. Submission of candidates by self-nomination will not be accepted.
