UNN starts cooperation with T-Bank in the field of education, science and professional training
In the new academic year, specialised courses prepared by T-Bank experts will be introduced in the educational programmes of the UNN Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics (IITMM). On 9 August 2024, Oleg Trofimov, UNN Rector, and Pavel Kachur, Chief Operating Officer of T-Bank's Development Centre, signed a cooperation agreement.
The parties also agreed that Lobachevsky University students will have practical training at the Development Centre and discussed the possibility of conducting research at the company's facilities. The main goal of the cooperation is to improve the quality of education and the level of research.
"IITMM is actively engaged in training professionals for business, and we need such strong industrial partners very much. The representatives of T-Bank are no less interested. There is a serious struggle for personnel in the business world, and Nizhny Novgorod is confidently developing as a major IT hub. Therefore, I am sure that in the near future we will see joint R&D and projects. By the way, it was nice to learn that Pavel Kachur, Operations Director of T-Bank’s Development Centre, is a graduate of our Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics. Our people are everywhere!" - emphasised Oleg Trofimov.
According to the bank's representatives, about 40% of employees of their Nizhny Novgorod division studied at UNN, which confirms the high level of education at the university.
"We are pleased to announce the start of our cooperation with one of the region's leading universities, the National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod. The interaction between industry and education is an important factor in providing students with relevant and practice-oriented knowledge," said Pavel Kachur.
The company has already offered students to take educational courses at its Backend Academy in the new academic year. The bank's representatives are ready to take part in internal activities of Lobachevsky University. According to the document, the parties intend, among other things, to jointly conduct educational and professionally focused lectures, master classes, and excursions. The new partners of UNN will make their proposals on the topics of term papers, graduate qualification papers, master's theses, project and research activities of students.
It should be also noted that graduates of Lobachevsky University’s IITMM are successfully employed by such companies as Rosatom, Yadro, Globus, Sber, Huawei and many others.
