UNN strengthens its ties with Chinese partners
From December 2 to December 5, a delegation from Lobachevsky University, led by Rector Oleg Trofimov, visited several major universities in the People's Republic of China. Two cooperation agreements were signed with Xiangtan University.

At present, nine students from Zhengzhou University are studying at UNN as part of the Russian language programme for partner universities in China.
The delegation also visited the Henan Institute of Science and Technology, where the parties explored the possibility of establishing a joint institute.
At Xiangtan University, the UNN delegation discussed with Chinese colleagues the possibility of opening a joint educational programme in computer science and information technology. The parties signed an agreement on cooperation in education and science, as well as an agreement on student mobility between Lobachevsky University and Xiangtan University.
According to Rector Oleg Trofimov, the areas of cooperation with Xiangtan University are in line with the strategic projects implemented by Lobachevsky University as part of the Priority 2030 programme.
"We share common interests with colleagues from Xiangtan University in cutting-edge fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence, chemistry, new materials, and microelectronics. This is what makes the potential for collaboration with this university so valuable and interesting for us. Moreover, we are interested in attracting young talented people. In this context, Chinese students are truly exceptional. They demonstrate remarkable dedication and a strong desire to learn, take their education seriously, and show respect for Russian culture. On our part, we strive to provide them with the most favourable conditions to ensure their time in Russia is a memorable experience. We understand how important it is for them not only to study, but also to get the most comprehensive picture of our country," the Rector noted.
